en bronze à patine brune; sur des socles en bois noirci à montures en bronze doré

Condition

Very good condition overall with minor dirt in the crevices and a few minor scratches to the surface of the bronze. The ebonized wooden base with a few cracks and lifts to the terraces. The giltbronze mounts loose, the bronze feet with some oxydation

Catalogue Note

La composition d'Henri IV est dérivée du bronze monumental de la place Dauphine, réalisé d'après le modèle de Giambologna (1529-1608) et Pietro Tacca (1577-1640). Celle de Louis XIV s'inspire grandement du modèle réalisé par Simon Hurtelle (1648-1724) et Pierre Mazeline (1633-1708) pour le monument équestre de Montpellier.
