There are several versions of this piece of furniture. The original version, adorned with a fruit basket and sculpted coiling, was displayed at the Salon d’Automne in 1919. Our model, without the fruit basket motif, combines ivory and rosewood in a modern way.
Characteristic of Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann’s finest work, two versions of this model described as ‘argentiers demi-circulaire' were displayed in 1934 at the retrospective organized by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, shown under numbers 19 and 20.

FR : Très bon état général.
Très légères égratignures.
Quelques petites fissures sur le placage en façade.
Quelques retouches éparses et quelques restaurations au placage sur le gradin en dessous du plateau supérieur et sur la partie centrale de la doucine.
Un petit choc sur le vantail latéral gauche.
Quelques petits chocs sur les angles au dos du meuble.

Very minor cracks on the veneer on the front of the cabinet.
Some minor retouchings scattered and a few restorations on the veener on the upper part.
A minor dent on the left side door.
A few minor dents on the back angles.
With two shelves, 3 keys and one ivory handle.

Variantes du modèle référencées sous les numéros 2005AR et 2127NR dans les Archives Ruhlmann, Musée des Années Trente
On connait plusieurs variantes de ce meuble. La version initiale ornée d'une corbeille de fruits et d'enroulements sculptés fut présentée au Salon d'Automne de 1919. Notre modèle, dépourvu du motif de corbeille, mêle dans une grande modernité formelle l'ivoire et le palissandre.
Caractéristiques de la production de prestige d'Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann, deux de ces variantes, décrites comme "argentier demi-circulaire", furent présentées lors de sa rétrospective organisée par le musée des Arts Décoratifs en 1934 sous les numéros 19 et 20.
