Catalogue Note

This painting was prominently displayed in the traveling exhibition Asian Traditions/Modern Expressions: Asian American Artists and Abstraction 1945-1970 curated by Jeffrey Wechsler and Wang Liwen. Organized by the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, the exhibition was the first in-depth look by a Westerner at how Asian American artists combined Eastern tradition with modern techniques during the American Abstract art movement (1945-1970).
