Description

boldly carved with vigorously piercing features, depicted with bulging eyes flaring beneath furrowed brows and protruding cheekbones, the stern expression accentuated with a prominent nose and full-lipped mouth, the hair neatly tied in loops held by a circlet set at the front with a stylised floret and coiled into a high knot on top, the stone of a mottled grey patina

Condition

There are minor consolidations to the areas where details have been lost, especially the nose, chin and other peripherals. The actual sculpture is of a slightly brighter tone than the catalogue illustration.
