Condition
This work is in very good condition overall. The sheet is securely placed between two sheets of Plexiglas. There are artist's pinholes in all four corners. Very close inspection reveals some minor handling creases along the upper edge, approximately 20cm from the upper left corner tip and to the lower right corner tip.

Neo Rauch made this after the German Wall fell on his first visit to Italy, where he saw Giotto’s frescoes in Arezzo on which this work is based.
