Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The colors are bright and fresh and the surface is clean. Any inconsistencies in the texture are inherent to the artist's chosen medium and working method. Along the edges of the museum board but completely obscured by the top matte, there are scattered light media accretions from the time of execution and some minor skinning visible. The museum board is cornered into a larger matte. Framed under Plexiglas.

Catalogue Note

"I began to see books and book design, typography, as a real inspiration. So I got a job with a book printer. He taught me how to set type, and then I started to see the beauty of typography and letter-forms. Somehow that led me off on this little path, almost like a bumper car, you know."
