Condition

This work is in good condition overall. The pendulum moves freely and the board and knife elements are all stable. The canvases are buckling slightly on their stretchers. There is evidence of light wear and handling along the edges including some hairline craquelure at the pull margins and some small dents to the stretcher bar in some intermittent places. Under close inspection there are pinpoint spot accretions and faint abrasions visible in some scattered areas throughout. There is a small, protruding surface irregularity visible on the lower edge, 4 inches from the left edge, and a small puncture hole 17 inches from the right edge and 6 inches from the upper edge. There is a dark brown abrasion in the left panel where the pendulum has been in contact with the canvas. There are small scratches and dents visible throughout the surface of the wooden blocks, inherent to the artistÂ’s chosen medium. Under Ultraviolet light inspection there is no evidence of restoration. Framed.
