Catalogue Note

Representing his native New Zealand at this year’s Venice Biennale, and with a simultaneous exhibition at MoMA PS1 in New York, Simon Denny is at the centre of current institutional interest. His work explores the internet culture and its impact on contemporary modes of communication through installations, video and sculptures - particularly focussing on the relationships between technology, knowledge and power. His latest projects have involved analyses of our digital corporate culture, the abstract language of new media and the graphics used by the US intelligence organisation NSA.
