Catalogue Note

Vladimir Yakovlevich Finikov was Court Jeweler Bolin's unofficial "chief jeweler" in St. Petersburg and worked on a number of important court commissions. Fabergé workmaster Michael Perchin married Finikov's daughter Tatiana in 1884 and it is believed that part of his training was carried out unofficially in Finikov's workshop. A pair of jeweled cufflinks by Finikov were sold in these rooms on 29 October 2013, lot 32, and a gold, platinum, diamond, and pink sapphire bracelet was sold 11 December 2013, lot 251. On Finikov, see V. Skurlov, T. Fabergé et al., Mikhail Perkhin. Iuvelir firmy Faberzhe, St. Petersburg, 2011, pp. 17-18.
