formed as the heads of Ottoman Turks, the mustachioed man, Gardner Manufactory, 1820s, with blue underglaze mark; the woman with jeweled turban, Kuznetsov Brothers Manufactory, Novo-Kharitonovo, 1830s-1840s, with green underglaze mark

Condition

the head of the Ottoman Turk in overall excellent condition, finely painted and with good detail, particularly on handle, with '2' incised in paste in addition to blue underglaze mark of the Gardner Manufactory, with one tiny area of loss at upper rim, possibly inherent; the head of the Ottoman woman in overall good condition; with scattered cracks to glaze (not through the body) which have slightly discolored, the rim with inherent discoloration from the firing process, some small rubbing to glaze
