A Vincennes glass cooler, circa 1752-53

seau à verre/ seau à verre ordinaire, painted with fishermen in landscape vignettes, the interlocked foliate scroll handles picked out in dark puce and gilding, with gilded rims, interlaced LL mark in blue containing a dot and two dots above,

There is a firing flaw to one side with associated surface scratching to the surrounding area, however this does not effect the enamels of the scene below. Otherwise in good condition.

Whilst it is difficult to attribute the painting to a particular artist, the very fine quality can be compared to a well known pair which were sold at Sotheby's London, 26th April 1960, lot 105, with associated Worcester covers, and subsequently sold at Christie's London (then without covers), 11th April 1988, lot 23. A further example painted in this palette is illustrated by Joanna Gwilt, Vincennes and early Sèvres porcelain from the Belvedere Collection, 2014, p. 106, no. 51.
