Condition

Oil on card. The card has been laid down onto a backing board. There are several pinholes in the card at several places around the edges, most of which are visible only when viewed unframed, as well as one towards the bottom right edge of the rocking horse. There are losses to the paint at several areas around the edges of the work, only visible when viewed unframed. There is a very minor indentation to the card at the bottom left horizontal edge, visible only when viewed unframed, and possibly caused by a previous frame. There are also some more minor losses to the paint, most visible in the central area of the composition. There is some minor surface dirt and studio detritus, but subject to the above, the work appears in good condition. There are some minor areas of fluorescence, some along the bottom horizontal edge, which may appear to be inkeeping with the artist's materials. The work is framed and glazed, presented in an ornate gilt plaster frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
