Description
with stuffed oval back and serpentine seat, fluted seat rails and fluted baluster legs, together with a pair of armchairs and one further, all in the manner of John Linnell, re-gilt
Condition
The gilding to the chair has been tarnished and is atmospherically discoloured. The carving is in good original condition with some wear to the extremities. The seat ahs been re-blocked underneath for support and there are signs of old worm now inactive. Formerly with brass capping and castors. The three remaining chairs have been have losses to the gilding and the carving has been damaged in certain areas most notably to the legs - which have been reduced in height. With signs of movement along the lines of construction. One with brass capping and castors the other two formerly with brass capping and castors. With old marks and scratches throughout to all four consistent with age and use.
