Condition

Age and construction cracks consistent with use and age. Some occassional stains to top. Nicks, scratches, and abrasions to veneer. Mounts with oxidation and surface dirt.

A nearly identical table, also stamped Weisweiler, from the Garde Meuble and bearing marks for the Château de Versailles and the Château de Villenueve-l'Étang was sold Sotheby's Monaco, May 27, 1980, lot 754. Another nearly identical example formerly in the collection of the Comte de Salverte was subsequently sold The Keck Collection, Sotheby's New York, December 5-6, 1991, lot 39. Another identical table was sold Segoura, Christie's New York, October 19, 2006, lot 194.
