Condition

Age and construction cracks consistent with use and age. Old worm damage to carcass, not extensive. One jardinière cut down to be half an inch shorter. Minor water damage to mahogany. Lead insert to one jardinière with two losses to corners.

Catalogue Note

Fidelis Schey was established in the rue Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris. He mainly produced mahogany and mahogany-veneered furniture. In 1786 he delivered several pieces of furniture, including two tables à jeux, for the Garde-Meuble to the Château de Fontainebleau.
