Condition

All four of the bodice darts have been altered – taken in; there are old stitch lines visible on the taffeta lining. The exterior looks good, the alterations were well done. There was originally a centre-front split which has been sewn up. The hem edge has a narrow chiffon lining band and this has the odd small scattered hole. The petersham waistband is worn at the closure. There is an old, well-done repair below the centre-back skirt opening. The centre-back seam needs re-stitching approx 3m below the fastenings and there is a 2cm split to one side of this. The skirt has been shortened at the waistband. The straps have been later re-backed in black satin ribbon for extra support. b.81-86cm, 32-34in, high waist. 61cm, 24in no.45953
