of flattened double-gourd form, carved all over with trailing leafy vines bearing numerous smaller gourds, the small oval base recessed, the stone of a greenish-gray color with large brown and russet colored patches, wood stand (2)

Provenance

Collection of Robert von Hirsch, prior to 1977, thence by descent.

Condition

There are small patches of dark fill on the surface of the vase to fill natural depressions in the stone. The rim with a shallow polished chip, natural fissure, a small bruise and an incipient chip. There are two further incipient chips to a leaf on the side of the vase.
