the recumbent mythical bird carved with its head turned sharply to the right and grasping a sprig of peony in its beak, finely detailed with its three-clawed feet folded under its body, its plumage defined with short incisions and its long curling tail tucked under one wing, the translucent stone of an even white color

Condition

The carving is in overall good condition. There is a tiny chip to the edge of one crest feather, and some minor nicks to the extremities.
