Description

  • Porcelain
the tall ovoid body rising to a waisted neck supporting a cupped mouth with a rolled lip rim, the broad shoulders set with a pair of dragon handles springing up from the shoulders and biting the rim of the vessel, the upper portion dipped in a very pale straw white glaze pooling in the recesses

Provenance

John Sparks Ltd., London, 11th January 1985.

Condition

Both handles with the upright flange and curled horns re-stuck. Minor flaking to the edges, but unusually both handles are intact. The surface has expected wear to the glaze and some restored glaze flakes. There is a firing adhesion to the reverse circa half an inch in diameter. There is a shallow quarter inch chip to one of the horizontal ribs on the neck from which extends a fine haircrack which curves across the shoulder and then straight extending approximately half way down the body.
