the deep U-shaped body supported on three tall, splayed legs of triangular section, decorated around the neck with a narrow frieze of hooked dragon motifs arranged in two confronted pairs, one bisected by a loop handle, beneath a long spout and pointed tail forming the rim and surmounted by a pair of mushroom-shaped finials, a single pictogram underneath the handle, reading zi, a green-patina with malachite azurite encrustation

An old Japanese collection prior to 1936.

Condition

Under x ray examination the tail have been broken into separate pieces and restored. Tip of one leg has been broken off and reattached. There is one chaplet to the base.
