簡文舒舊藏師友同門書畫 （編號1513－1516）

本輯仍出於簡文舒舊藏，包括其師張大千、同門潘貞則，及藝友吳作人所贈。

簡氏（1926-2010），廣東番禺人，出生於香港，乃著名書法篆刻家簡經綸六女。幼聰慧，九歲即在滬舉行畫展。簡氏府中座上客者，多文化藝術界知名之士，她得此良機，多承便請益，大千先生與她尤為投緣，四十年代中期收為弟子。一九四九年，她赴紐約學習西畫，亦曾留學巴黎。在美國生活數十年間，創作不輟，多次舉行畫展，作品為各大美術館及文化機構收藏。

註：一九四七年春，吳作人應英國文化委員會邀請，赴彼邦訪問講學，後轉往日內瓦、巴黎舉行展覽。本幅以水墨繪馬，昂首提足，邁步前越，送贈予身處香港之簡文舒，喻其新得駿馬，且謂於「耶誕前夕」，亦作聖誕賀禮。時畫家遊踪域外，故循西方節日致賀之習慣，並記於畫上，此恐亦吳氏創作生涯中之特例。
