the pear-shaped vase raised on a straight foot, with a long waisted neck rising to a ‘garlic-head’ constricted mouth, the shoulders flanked by two S-shaped handles, the body decorated with ruyi-form clouds below a a border of pendent ruyi collaring the neck

Condition

There is an old repair in the cast below the mouthrim (approx. 1.8 cm) and on the footrim (approx. 1.2 cm). The body has a shallow dent below a ruyi-shaped cloud. There are traces of original gilding, and scattered cuprite encrustations. There is expected pitting consistent with age and the type.
