Description

  • bronze
skilfully cast in the round as a conch shell with the tip of the shell forming one leg, the globular body resting on two further legs in the form of a smaller conch hell tip, the exterior incised with an inscription, the base with a recessed cartouche enclosing an apocryphal Xuande mark, the patina of a warm brown colour

Condition

The censer is in overall good condition except for minor occasional pitting or slight signs of surface wear and oxidation.
