Description

comprising five thangkas depicting Khedrup Je’s five visions of Lama Tsongkhapa, each painting with the lama surrounded by a gilt-painted circular mandala with ritual offerings below and Khedrup Je seated to one side, the thangkas depicting Tsongkhapa riding a white elephant, seated on a throne carried by celestial beings, as red-bodied Manjushri on a lion, as a yogi on a tiger bearing a flaming sword and a skull cup of nectar, and finally as himself flanked by lotus flowers by his shoulders

Condition

As typical, there is extensive creasing to the paintings with associated loss of pigments. There are insignificant tears and other general surface wear. Overall good condition. Textile mounts: losses and tears.
