- bronze
of flattened globular form raised on a pedestal foot, set with two horned mythical beast handles flanking an incurved mouth rim, each side decorated with a taotie mask inlaid in gold and silver filigree, the cover reticulated in the centre with a longevity character flanked by undulating flanges and similarly inlaid with archaistic motifs, the bronze richly patinated to a silvery brown colour
Condition
There is some expected tarnishing and wear to the inlaid filigree decoration, consistent with age, a few occasional dents to the surface or typical pitting in areas, but overall the vessel is in good condition.
