Description

  • bamboo
of circular section and raised on three small feet, the exterior decorated with a scene depicting four figures in a picturesque setting accentuated with a spring and large overhanging trees, incised with an inscription Guan quan tu and dated to the xinchou year (in accordance with 1721 or 1781), the striated patina of a warm reddish-brown colour

Condition

The brushpot is in overall good condition. There are a few typical age cracks running from the foot, the longest approx. 5 cm. There are also minor flakes and occasional wormage to the rim.
