Description

the cup with shallow rounded sides and an everted foliated rim, covered with a pale milky blue glaze with a purple splash to the centre; the lotus-bud shaped waterpot applied with a pale-blue glaze suffused with blue and purple flecks, the glaze thinning at the mouth and stopping short of the foot

Condition

The two items are in overall good condition. There are typical imperfections in the glaze, including pitting or occasional pin-prick air bubbles. There is an underglaze chip to the rim of the foliate cup, original the potting and firing of the piece. The actual colour is consistent with the catalogue illustration.
