Description

  • ceramics
elegantly potted with wide everted sides rising from a tapered foot to an upright rim, decorated on the cavetto with two lotus blooms borne on a meandering leafy scroll, applied overall with an olive-green glaze pooling to dark green in the recesses and thinning to light brown at the rim, stopping short above the neatly cut foot revealing a greyish ware

Condition

The bowl is in overall good condition. There are a few typical firing flaws including pinholes or occasional minute gaps in the glaze. The foot is particularly well cut and the overall design very pleasing. The actual colour is actually less red and more olive green compared to the catalogue illustration.
