the first carved recumbent with its legs tucked beneath the body, its head flanked by a pair of floppy ears, naturalistically detailed with a curling tail sweeping over his right haunch, the smoothly polished stone of a pale celadon colour with a patch of russet, the second reclining over his forepaws with a rounded body and legs neatly tucked beneath, the smoothly polished stone of warm celadon colour
Condition
The two carvings are generally in good condition. There is some surface wear and some typical nibbling to the edges. The actual colours are somewhat warmer and deeper compared to the catalogue illustration.
