the hexagonal base of the seal crowned with a deftly carved bixie, the winged creature fantastically articulated with tufts of hair, a prominently defined spine and serrated ribs, its mouth open with a fierce expression and crouched in a predatory manner on its front legs, the brushpot of slender cylindrical form, well carved and bearing a fine age patina

Condition

The overall conditions of both pieces are very good, with only some typical age cracks and minor nicks to the extremities. The actual colours are less reddish than the catalogue illustration.
