  • copper
of squat compressed form, the loop handle and short spout painted blue, the body divided and carrying scenes of flowers and vines on a yellow enamel ground, all below a white ruyi-lappet border, the cover painted with similar designs and a flattened blue knop, impressed with an apocryphal six-character mark on the underside

Condition

There are some chips or flakes to the interior rim of the cover, the longest 1.5 cm. The enamels are somewhat tarnished and soiled, with some minute gaps and expected firing imperfections. There is some general surface wear and dirt accretion as visible on the photo, but overall the teapot is in good condition. The actual colour is close, if not slightly warmer compared to the catalogue illustration.
