- bronze
of baluster form set with lug handles, the turquoise ground decorated with scrolling lotus and inset with a famille-rose porcelain plaque painted with three boys at play on a garden terrace, the simulated stand reticulated with ruyi and picked out with florets on a dark blue ground
Condition
The edge of the porcelain plaque has a small chip of approx. 0.6 cm and another flake of approx. 0.4 cm. There are also a some light rubbing and a few surface scratches but overall the enamels have been very well preserved. More generally the vase is in very good overall condition with expected light rubbing to the gilding, minor occasional dents or losses to the enamels, or crackles on the black lacquer border around the porcelain plaque. There are a few light scratches and wear to the reverse of the vase and minor dents or pitting to the rims.
