Description

  • bronze
with a splayed foot and flared rim, decorated around the exterior with four multi-coloured lions frolicking among turquoise clouds chasing auspicious objects, the interior centred with a leaping carp surrounded by scrolling lotus, wood stand

Condition

The enamels are worn and tarnished overall as visible on the photos. More particularly the interior of the bowl is very oxidized with extensive wear to the enamels, probably due to the bowl being filled with water during a prolonged period of time. There are losses of enamels throughout, predominantly around the footrim with occasional filling. The different sections of the wood stand are loose and can detach.
