Description

  • porcelain
stoutly potted with a slightly everted rim, raised on a splayed square foot, decorated around the exterior with four lotus blossoms wreathed by scrolling foliage entangling with pink bats suspending a gilt longevity symbol, all reserved on a turquoise ground, the rim surrounded by yellow ruyi and the foot picked out with florets and angular scrolls reserved on pink, the interior and the base glazed turquoise, the latter inscribed in iron red with a six-character seal mark

Condition

There is a small original flake under the glaze at one corner of the foot rim. There is some rubbing to the gilding on the rim, minor wear to the enamels, minute flakes and surface scratches especially to the interior, but overall the bowl is in good condition.
