Description

well potted with shallow rounded sides rising from a short foot, the interior decorated with a lime-green medallion centred by a large peony bloossom among leafy scrolls, encircled by the bajixiang ('Eight Buddhist Emblems') and a band of yellow-ground ruyi-headed blooms around the cavetto, the exterior decorated with three detached floral scrolls, all delicately picked out in multi-coloured enamels, the base encircled by a gilt fillet and inscribed in iron-red with a six-character reign mark
Condition
There is a 0.7 cm. restored chip to the rim at 11 o'clock, some expected minor firing imperfections or occasional specks in the glaze including an oblique 1.5 body line underglaze to the rim but overall the condition remains quite good. The enamels have been well fired and preserved.
