Catalogue Note
The charming and seemingly random way the brown-and-light blue leaves are sprinkled among the red palmettes adds a sense of spontaneity to the otherwise systematic layout of the field of this embroidery. The vacant vertical lines between the rows of palmettes further add to this orderly arrangement while adding spaciousness, all of which is particularly well framed and balanced by the densely-worked and robust border.
