- A Marble Portrait Head of a Man, Roman Imperial, circa early 1st Century A.D., on a later European Marble draped Bust

- Height of bust with socle 78 cm.; 2ft. ½in.
turned to his right, with deep-set eyes and furrowed brow; the extremities and back of the head restored in marble; the bust set on a mottled pink stone circular socle fitted to a truncated granite column with separate marble base.
Condition
The chin, nose, proper left eyebrow, both ears, and significant portions of the back head are restored in marble. Head loose. Surface repolished. On a later European bust, set on a mottled pink socle, with a truncated granite column with separate base.
