the base with gilt dedication text and dated 1656; together with a German carved and painted predella section decorated with angel caryatids and foliate strapwork, 17th century (2)

Condition

The dedication can be translated as follows: "On the 20th July 1656 Herr Tittus Johan Carl Lindner commissioned and erected this altar in in honour of the King and Kaiser (...), his dear wife Anna Barbara Lindnerin, née Fisherin, to God, God Mother, and to St. John the Evangelist, St. John the Baptist as well as all other dear saints."
