Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There is minor paint rubbing along the lower framing edge and two vertical stretcher-bar lines in the centre of the composition corresponding to the back stretcher. There is a wide area of what appears to be discoloured varnish in the upper left corner. Ultra-violet light reveals extensive areas of retouching in the sky, some strokes to the foliage in the trees to the left and lower left of the composition, some strokes along the lower right edge, some strokes to the trees in the lower right quadrant and some other minor scattered spots. The picture is in otherwise good condition and the overall appearance of the work is good. This work is ready to hang.
