woven with vermicular design and foliate sprays in cerise damask, with supplementary silver gilt metal-thread exuberant foliate motifs and fine trails, loom width, with selvedges left and right visible

mounted approximately 102cm high, 58cm wide, 2cm deep;
Textile visible 99cm high, 54.5cm wide
Loom width, with original selvedges on both sides. Turned over at both ends. Metal-thread tarnished overall but still attractive appearance. Slightly different coloured band to ground across top. Stitched on a black cotton covered stretcher. Lined on reverse of panel. Small export lead tag attached (085 and eagle/owl motif). Very good overall condition. Highly decorative panel of balanced composition and attractive damask cerise ground.
