Description

  • 89cm. high, 141cm. wide, 63cm. deep; 2ft. 11in., 4ft. 7 ½in., 2ft. ¾in.
of serpentine form, with an inset beige, grey and white marble top above a pierced frieze on cabriole legs, the solid backboard with a flower and fruit-filled wicker basket above lambrequins on a shaped platform base, the whole carved with scrolls, rocaille and foliage and painted with floral sprays

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Old very minor marks, chips and scratches to the marble top which are not too noticeable with a very minor restoration to the bottom edge of the right side when facing and couple of miniscule restorations along the edge. Evidence of old very minor woodworm which appears to be no longer active. There are some losses to the gilding and painted decoration as visible from the catalogue photograph.There are some hairline construction cracks and scattered age cracks generally which can be left. There has been some retouching to the decoration.
