Description

each of lozenge shape, the flat top variously carved with a scholar accompanied by two attendants in a landscape with mountains, trees and rocks, the sides of the cover and box decorated with a cellular diaper ground, lacquered black to the interior and base, wood stands

Condition

One box with two restored sections to the rim, the longest approx. 2.3cm long, and a chip to edge of the cover. The other box with two stabilized corners and along the edge of the box where it has cracked. Both boxes with minor nicks, cracks consistent with age, and the interiors relacquered.
