Description

  • 104cm. high, 152cm. wide, 48cm. deep; 3ft. 5in., 5ft., 1ft. 7in.
with a later oval ebonised top supported by a centaur with two serpents on rockwork and rectangular platform base; decoration refreshed

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Old marks, chips and scratches as visible from the catalogue photograph. There is a section of the front of the wooden serpent face nowmissing but this can easily be restored. Several restorations to the carved sections eg to the serpents tail, the arms, head and body of the centaur and rockwork base but not exclusively. Some refreshment to the painted decoration. Some scattered age cracks.
