Description

- approximately 92 by 72cm (mounted); 83 by 63cm (textile visible); 3ft., 2ft. 4in. and 2ft. 9in., 2ft. 1in.
the tessellated central star medallion with tulip spandrels, rosette border with stencil rose lappets at upper end, lower end missing
Condition
Measurements:
Mounted: 92cm high, 72cm wide, 3.5cm deep;
Textile visible: Single width panel
63cm across the upper and lower edges, 88cm. along left side, 84.5cm along the right side
Comprised on a single width woven panel. Lower end missing, as visible in the photograph. Cerise velvet approx. 1mm and lower in areas. Particularly worn in lower right corner. Evidence of apple green velvet in areas, especially to outer edges. Some metal-thread extant in areas, though tarnished. Some hand repaired horizontal splits, for example between the upper end and central panel, and half way down the left side, and across the centre. There is a dark stain in area of lower right hand border, with some stitched repair to ground, as visible in the photograph.
Mounted against a modern neutral cream coloured woven textile covered box frame stretcher.
