Overall the condition of the arches is good, with dirt and wear to the surfaces consistent with age. The arches are architectural fragments, and there are several losses and roughly hewn areas around the edges. Notable losses include: two corners of one of the arches, and the tip of one of the corners of the other arch, as well as shallow losses to the sections at the top of each arch. One of the bows has been reattached. There are several chips and more minor losses throughout the high points and edges, including the nose, chin and hair of one of the putti. There is weathering to the surfaces, consistent with placement outdoors. The garland reliefs and putto heads are carved in sections, and some of the joints are slightly open but stable, with some plaster residue visible. The black marble is inlaid in sections, and some fill is visible around the joints. There is dirt to the surface throughout, including dark staining to the limestone. There are pencil marks to one of the putti's face. There are metal mounts to three of the feet of the arches.
