Condition

Overall the condition of the marble is good, with wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. A section at the top left corner has been carved separately or reattached, and some fill is visible. There is veining to the marble consistent with the material, including a few stable hairline fissures, notably around the helmet. There is dirt to the surface throughout and some weathering. There are several minor chips and abrasions, including around the outer edges, and to the bottom of the coat of arms. There are various tool marks to the back.
