There is a layer of dirt to the surface throughout. Further dirt includes bird droppings, notably to the upper section of the coat of arms and to the tops of the cherubs' heads. There are losses to the proper right side of the face and nose of the cherub on the left. There are several chips and abrasions to the high points of the carving and around the outer edges. There is a metal mount at the top.
