Condition

The slab is attached to a wall at Burg Marquartstein with the use of plaster and metal in several places. There is weathering to the surface throughout, consistent with placement outside. There are several holes at the front, notably around the top half. There are chips and abrasions to the edges, including some larger losses to the edge on the left side. There is veining to the stone, consistent with the material, notably a large vein running diagonally across the top half, and more faint veins around the centre. There are several losses to the carving on the coat of arms, and there is particular dirt to the crevices of the carving. Otherwise the condition is stable, with dirt and wear consistent with age.
