Overall the condition of the stone is good, with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a fissure below the capital, which is slightly unstable. The composite stone was cast, and a few casting lines are slightly visible. There is dirt to the surface throughout, including a few splashes of white paint. There are several chips and abrasions around the edges and corners.

This column is a copy of a 13th-century red sandstone column from the Franziskanerkirche in Würzburg, which is now in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum, Munich (inv. no. MA 1548).
