Description
- Pair of columns with bases

- French or Italian, 15th century
one with a Bernheimer München label inscribed: #600 5663
Condition
There is weathering to the surface throughout, consistent with placement outside. There is dirt to the surface, including some areas of darkening. There is partially darkened composite material around the tops and around the joints between the shafts and the bases. There are several losses around the tops of the bases, and further chips and abrasions along the edges. The joint between the base and the shaft of one of the columns is open but stable; the other shaft is separate from its base and slides in with an extension of composite material at the bottom, which is slightly unstable. A few pieces of stone and plaster are loose. Otherwise the condition is stable.
